What is Head Start®?

The Head Start® Program is a program of the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families1. Per the Head Start® Logo Instructions for Use (found here), only Head Start® grantees may use the logo and approval must be obtained prior to use. No commercial firms are allowed to sell or disbrute Head Start® goods. For the full set of usage and restrictions reguarding the Head Start® logo, please read this PDF.

What this means...

We cannot print and stock apparel items (tshirts, polos, fleece, etc.) or any other item using the Head Start® wording or logo. It also means no other companies can either. We have even tried to get licensed by Head Start® themselves and pay royalties to them on the sale of clothing bearing their name, and have been repeatedly denied (they just don't do that at this time). If you see someone selling Head Start® merchandise, please, help keep a fair marketplace and report them using the address located in Part D of this PDF.

Now what?

If you are an approved Head Start® grantee with permission to use the Head Start® logo and name, we can make shirts for you! Simply visit our Custom Staff Shirts page to view samples of our designs and to get a quote. We hope you understand why we don't have any designs with Head Start® on them, and we hope you use us when the time comes to get Head Start® shirts made for your specific program!
